brief history
1) last week installed Kubuntu Hardy 804 with major wireless issues and that thread is still open in Networking and Wirelless thread.
2) this morning I installed Ubuntu Hardy 804 because there seems to be more help available than Kubuntu and was hoping to resolve wireless issue. Also I believe I have a bad copy/install of Kubuntu. By the way this started as duel boot with Xp
3)Two hours ago I installed Ubuntu 8.04.1. Went great on install and I made it a point to
change login name to ron and I've used the same password for 20 years...going back to MS-Dos days. No need to hack my PC I'll open a port for ya......then kill you.
4) XP still booting and online (desktop wireless via d-link).
Kubuntu still booting but no internet.
Ubuntu wants a password other than what I had input.
Ubuntu 804.1 boots and won;t accept login id or password BUT I am in the "Failsafe Terminal.
Now before I go to killdisk.com can somebody give the command to change Login ID and Password. You all can flame later but if this works it going to be KEWL
