View Full Version : [ubuntu] [SOLVED] Error when installing compiz unsupported/unofficial plugins

when I'm trying to install unofficial/unsupported plugins for compiz using synaptic package manager i get following errors:

E: /var/cache/apt/archives/compiz-fusion-plugins-unofficial_0.0.2~git20070921+3v1ubuntu0_i386.deb: trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/compiz/lib3d.so', which is also in package compiz-fusion-plugins-extra
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/compiz-fusion-plugins-unsupported_0.5.2~git20071006+3v1ubuntu0_i386.deb: trying to overwrite `/usr/share/compiz/3d.xml', which is also in package compiz-fusion-plugins-extra



E: /var/cache/apt/archives/compiz-fusion-plugins-unofficial_0.0.2~git20070921+3v1ubuntu0_i386.deb: trying to overwrite `/usr/lib/compiz/lib3d.so', which is also in package compiz-fusion-plugins-extra
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/compiz-fusion-plugins-unsupported_0.5.2~git20071006+3v1ubuntu0_i386.deb: trying to overwrite `/usr/share/compiz/3d.xml', which is also in package compiz-fusion-plugins-extra





please help



::edit:: i also tried copying the above files to desktop, and removing them from the original directory, then trying again, and still get same error.
