View Full Version : [ubuntu] Kfce Desktop won't open

I've installed both Gnome and Kfce desktop environment, using either one as the spirit moves me.

Today, the Kfce won't open. The login screen shows up, with the little mouse in the Ubuntu logo; I choose Kfce from the options, put in User Name and Password, and just get a blank blue screen. No matter how long I wait.

Gnome, logged in the same way, opens up with no problem.

Is there a way to fix this?

Are you perhaps referring to xfce?
There may be a configuration error. the xfce config files are in ~/.xfce
provided that you dont have anything important in that folder you can delete it and it will reset the XFCE configuration. You will have to reset the desktop according to your liking.
