I'm trying to load Ubuntu onto a laptop.....
I have an older Dell laptop that has a floppy and no CD-ROM. I have a USB CD-ROM, but am unable to load from it. While the BIOS legacy USB support is enabled for the one USB port it has, it does not see the USB CD drive. As I understand it, some USB devices will function and CD drives aren't one of them without a driver.
I've loaded DOS and Win 3.11 off floppy and tried the DOS USB CD drivers but haven't had much luck.
Any suggestions?
Thanks
