I'm running 8.04 with riceeeys http://eee.ricey.co.uk/files/eee/RiceeeyTweak.sh script on an eeepc 701.

It seems that i cant write anything to the hdd but apt-get works perfectly fine.

I can change the desktop background, but gnome doesn't let me access system-preferences-session manager?

Gimp fails to load cause it cant create a temp folder (reports no space) and firefox 3.0 refuses to empty its cache.

I'm thinking its a permissions problem associated with the hdd.

Pressing the off/log off button (on the top right corner of the screen) seems to kill the window manager - no box with options to suspend comes up.

got me stumped - any help is appreciated.
