Hi, I want to connect my PC to the internet, but it is to far from my router to feasibly run a cable and has no wireless card. What I do have is a laptop with a wireless card and a crossover cable. I've scanned through a few threads on this forum but haven't had much luck implementing/understanding solutions.

The specific hardware I have is:

Laptop: Acer Ferrari 4002 (Broadcom wireless card, I think this may pose a problem)

PC: Dell Dimension E521

Both running Gutsy,

thanks in advance for your help.

this is not exactly what you are looking for, but this thread on internet sharing (http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=713874) will turn your pc into a router... maybe this helps a little :)

or you could install firestarter in the laptop. sudo apt-get install firestarter

cheers guys, firestarter works well but my laptop seems to only allow my wired connection or my wireless connection to be active at any one time, not both, is there a way I can rectify this?
