I don't know really. But if you are (or are about to become) a programmer, installing these things after a fresh Ubuntu install doesn't seem so hard. Is there some reason why someone would need to create a whole new spin off to save one hour of download and install time? Are there hoards of programmers all waiting in line to get a fresh copy of Ubuntu and crying when they find out they need to install a few more software packages? ;) Honestly, I just don't see a need unless some of the software listed here is rare or hard to install. But if you are a programmer, installing things the hard way would help you build up you cred. Anyway, if you think there is a need, go for it.

See you around!

Install build-essentials, Eclipse and Eclipse-cdt to start with.
Then look for tutorials and go from there.

you can go to synaptic manager, and search for the compilers that you want, and install them
