Ok I'm lazy -- at least I admit it -- in search of good screen tutorial. Thanks for any suggestions.

Not meant to be insulting, but I find that (but I use man screen and pipe it into grep) most useful.

The actual good stuff isn't in the beginning, so you will have to scroll down a bit to get the use of it.

That sure was an eloquent way to tell me to just RTFM! Rather diplomatic wouldn't you say?

I am sorry, I didn't want it to come across as that.

There are several tools in which the man pages are more handy than a tutorial IMO, and screen just happened to be one of them.

I meant that as a joke. If the man page is well written then great -- I usually find the man pages really unhelpful until you have already figured a lot of things out either through reading other material, or through trial and error. Then the cryptic underexplained flags in the man pages then start to make sense. If this is an exception to the rule, then I welcome it with open arms.

Well, the list of key combos is the most helpful, which is why you have to scroll down a bit.

The flags are less useful, except for a couple.

Here is the tutorial I first used (second half): http://quadpoint.org/articles/irssi

I have a good one:
Use ctrl-a c to make a new terminal, and use ctrl-a n where n is the number of terminal that you made.
For running multiple apps in the same screen, try using splitvt, dvtm, or twin.
