i accidentally ( yes, surprisingly, its possible.....) messed up my linux box!!! i want to reinstall, is it possible just to reinstall without changing anything??? help!

If you have a separate /home partition you can do it. If you don't have one; you can make it:

You can make a backup of your /home and restore it later.

thanks but im not a noob to linux lol. i am a network admin for some servers and whatnot.... i just never could successfully get this to work. but thanks :)
