Details of my system are in attached images
Plus one more 3com Ethernet card on a PCI slot... [which doesnt effect the problem even if remove it]

I am trying to install ubuntu 8.04 on it. I get the loading kernel screen, after that nice and shiny progress bar, it loads 100%, screen goes blank for a while and then i start getting things like:

[ 159.572617] hub 5-0:1-0: connect debounce failed, port 8 disabled
[ 165.328848] hub 5-0:1-0: connect debounce failed, port 3 disabled

what is this? and how do i fix it?

What about trying the alternate or xubuntu cd's

Do you know if any other distros will load properly?

no use, tried different modes of installations, like safe graphics, text only, on ubuntu and kubuntu and both suffer the exact same errors...

i left the system on for all night and after all those hub errors, i was lucky that i got installation screen.. I did all what i have to, and it started installation. Now its at 90% and "Loading module "usb-storage" for "USB storage" since the last 5 hours. It has happened twice. System is working e.g. its responding like it should, but installation gets stoped at that point.
