I am looking for a tool that will allow me to manage user desktops. We have a Unbuntu server running Hardy that about 100 users will connect to using FreeNX / NX. I would like the ability control what users have on they desktop, in the menus, etc on a global scale. The time required to do the initial set up and ongoing maintenance will be a nightmare if every desktop has to be manually set up.

I found a tool once that allowed me to create a template, for lack of a better term, of the desktop I wanted then apply it to users. The great part was if I made a change to the template it replicated to all users. Unfortunately I forgot to bookmark the page and can't seem to track it down again.

Searching the Internet I found Pessulus and Ubuntu Tweak that look like they might do the job. I am going to test them and see how they work. Does anyone have other suggestions for managing a large amount of users?

Thanks
