How can install the tomcat on the os

I am a new ubuntu user, I just want to install the tomcat on the os, but when I installing, the os will be died. Is anyone tell me why?Please Help me, thanks~~:):guitar:

go into terminal (applications -> accessories -> terminal) and type:
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install tomcat5.5
