how is it doing that? Is it rotating, or is it in a glass cube? I can't tell..

I'm new here, is there a way to report this as spam?

Wow, that is cool!
The next challenge will be to render this hologram outside any glasses, floating around space like in the movies :)
Don't know how would they do that with current physics... well, anyway, imagination is more important than knowledge, right ?

I wonder why? The OP just wanted to share some exciting news (for him). I don't think this is SPAM.

If you read the header for the Cafe:

The water cooler if you like. Topics here do not always have to be Linux/Ubuntu related. In fact some go so far as to propose what would happen if we had now Sun :D

This isn't a hologram, it's just clever mirror work. Current holographic technique allows for exactly what you have said, images "floating around in space". They are relatively easy to create (still frames) - I made some in my third year of a physics degree, but they were more an art than a science.

Man watching that hologram as a TV would be so tiny!
And not very cost effective, if you are like me I would stick to my TV which is bigger.

What is the nature of your medical emregncy?
Like the others who have responded to 3mpy's post, I agree that the OP isn't necessarily spam (see below). If you have a problem with a particular post, there's always the "report" button on the left of a message, which will bring your concerns to the attention of the forum moderators.
