Can you make it boot up in Windows automatically instead of Ubuntu?

Im still trying to convince my dad on Ubuntu. Is there any way i can make it so if you turn on the computer it will boot up to Windows automatically instead of Ubuntu. Just so you dont have a time limit to scroll down and select windows. I know its really not a big deal but he is complaining about it.

Other than that the installation went really good, on both my laptop and this computer. The only problem i had on both was the wireless cards.

I had this issue when installing window$ apps ie need to reboot after anything:mad:
I'v changed it back now.

Now when you boot up there is a list of boot options ubuntu windows etc

The first line is line 0 (zero)
The next line is line 1 (one)
And so on

Now a word of warning before you go further
If you do this wrong you may end up with a non booting box I suspect.

In my file /boot/grub/menu.lst there is one line that says default 0

You need to change that 0 to the number of windows position on the list

So if windows is 3rd down the list it will be 2 given that the list starts from 0 not one.

So at the terminal:

sudo nano /boot/grub/menu.lst

useing the arrow keys move the curser to the "default" line (line 13 in mine)

Change the number to the one for windows

Control X to exit and y to save changes

reboot if windows comes up your all good.

You can change "default 0", to default 5 or 6. I noticed you have to Windows. Or leave "default 0" alone and move the Windows Title ahead of Ubuntu Title. Then you would have to change Grout. So just change the "default 0" to either 5, or 6.
