Hi boys,

a time ago, when I installed Ubuntu 7.10 in my laptop, I had a problem with the wifi card that I solved http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=695531

But with the last Kernel update to the revision 15, at the laptop reboot, the wifi card lost the connection with WPA another time.

Someone can help me?

I posted this in the spanish Ubuntu forums too http://www.ubuntu-es.org/index.php?q=node/94144.

Gracias, thank you!

Have you tried reconfiguring the network card? If that fails, you can just continue booting into the old kernel if you did not uninstall it.

Hi ibutho,

the network card is working, the leds are blinking and I can connect with a Wireless Network without encryption. The problem is with the WPA encrypted networks.

I know that I can boot with the old one, I configured to boot with it by default, but if a new Revision of the kernel have appeared is for improvements and I believe thats good to work with him.

I think that the problem is with the modules, is a SMC8235w PCMCIA Card.

Thanks!
