View Full Version : [ubuntu] Updating Nvidia graphics drivers

I have updated my nvidia graphics drivers and now my drivers are failing and i had to use xfix to restore my gdm. Now everytime i install my drivers they fail and make my screen resolution 800x600. im using the latest nvidia drivers and i have an 8800GT. im using a 32bit system and i have the 32 bit drivers... im soooo lost. :confused:

The 8800GT is supported by using the nvidia-glx-new package in Hardy. This package contains the 169.12 drivers. How did you upgrade the drivers?

You have pretty much the exact same setup I do. i have the P5K mobo.

I got the new drivers "173.14.09" and just installed them. Then when it failed i remebered hearing you have to delete the current drivers?
