Ok, i m having a problem with an old laptop, aparently the cd drive is somwhat damaged as it does not compute the checksum correctly for it to boot into the installer, but it does read correctly with some patience ( on what used to be windows).

Now i got the machine booting into the installer via network booting(pxe), and then conected it to the internet and it was all ok, problem is that my bandwith is somewhat limited, and i dont really want to redownload all, since i already have the install cd.

my question is , is there a way to boot via network, and then switch to the cd installer, or at least have the srcs downloaded from another machine on my local net ( and not via apt-mirror since i dont want to have to redownload), like creating a repo from the install cd.

i just want to download updates and not the whole thing.

Maybe its possible to chroot into the cd and then start the gdm?

Thank you
