View Full Version : Tomtom Petition

As many of you may have noticed, Tomtom only offers support for tomtom home on Windows, or Mac OS. Considering that Tomtom's are linux based, this just seems wrong to me. I think the only way to overcome this would be for as many people as possible to send an email. Nothing rude, or unnecessary.

You can go here (http://www.tomtom.com/support/ask.php?Ref=solution.php%3FGID%3D1%26PID%3D1954%26 SID%3D0%26CID%3D1164%26Language%3D4&Language=4) and just fill in the blanks (if you have an account, or you can create one). If you don't want to make a new letter you can copy and paste mine.

I am not complaining, or bashing. However I would respectfully request you please begin Linux support for TomTom Home. I am running Ubuntu Linux. I can't seem to run it in Wine, or in windows emulators. With the dissatisfaction of Vista, XP becoming obsolete, and the price of either of them being inhibitive(and ridiculous); Linux is gaining popularity as a mainstream operating system. Ubuntu Linux especially since it is free, and has excellent support via web based forums. Once again, would you please consider creating a Linux distribution of TomTom home. If you need any help or advice please feel free to contact me, http://www.ubuntu.com/ , or the thousands of programmers at http://ubuntuforums.org/index.php

Guess i was mis-informed. I heard through the grape vive it was already scheduled for M$ to stop supporting it. But I do think many people here would argue that XP is kinda on the obsolete part... but that is another topic .... M$ bashing, and another thread entirely.
