After much pulling of hair I finally got my first Linux install up and running.

just when i though i could relax Ubuntu wanted to do a routine update so i clicked ok but after rebooting it just entered Low graphics mode and the Nvidia drivers don't seem to be working. I tried removing them then reinstalling but no change.

I am running 2.6.24.19 and everything was fine until the update. I'm sorry i didn't pay much attention to what was being updated.

If I boot in to version 2.6.24.16 then the driver loads fine.

Is I'm really new to Linux & I've no idea how to start troubleshooting this problem so any help would be great.

Thanks

Have you tried Envy? http://www.albertomilone.com/nvidia_scripts1.html

Allow it to edit your xorg.conf file, if it asks :D
