Xubuntu 8.04 to Ubuntu 7.10

Is it possible to revert from Xubuntu 8.04 to Ubuntu 7.10 painlessly?

And if so, how?

It's not possible unfortunately. But you can have a separate /home partition to simplify your system changes and keep your personal data always.

To revert is not painless, for to do so you must do a clean install of 7.10. As suggested above, if you have a separate /home partition, you can keep your settings and personal data, which eases the pain a bit.

Luckily I have a separate /home partition (I hope I won't mess it up during the reinstall!). I don't think I have to save anything else particular, besides my dial-up via mobile phone configuration :)
