Hey everyone,

I have a eee with ubuntu installed, the only drawback is the wifi.
it works, however it is a PITA. Network Manager sometime drops my connection, or apparent tries to use my wpa key on my open net.
I couldnt get it to connect to my friends WPA network, but his notebook did and he verified the key was right.
However I can get it to connect manually, most of the time.

I have tried Wicd, and it doesnt work, I can get the tray icon, but not the list of available nets. So Im back to network managler.

Is there anything else out there, or any suggestions

thanks

remove Network Manager and wicd. You don't need them if you want to go the manual way using scripts.

I dont want to use scripts, I just want to get online without having to screw around with it.
