Finally dumped Windows forever and am free.
Currently am on Wildblue satellite...and getting 60K speed..Windows got me 41K.
60K sounds slow but its actually pretty good. I'll never be on cable so...Testmy says that is 9 times 56K dial up. Still a ways from 100K
which is the realistic fast speed for WIldblue.
Its a useful speed but would like to get to at least 80K.
Anyone on Wildblue know tweaks for Ubuntu 7.10 ,,
I'll switch to the 8.0 when it seems right..
thanks

Hi, Bu!

If you get any progress, do please let us all kneaux! $5X the dialup price, for 3X the speed. And a 2-year contract. Great deal, eh?

I haven't dumped WindowsXP yet. But I was delighted to discover that I can use my new WildBlue satellite link even within an Ubuntu 9.04 LiveCD session. So I can surf the web and save the files to an external usb disk.

I don't know what speeds I'm getting yet. I'm just delighted that I can get online with Ubuntu.
