Hello all. I'm learning a new language and have gotten into the habit of creating desktop icons with new words and their translations so I see them every time I get on my computer. Of course these icons take up a lot of space and franky, they're f***in' ugly so I'm looking for a different way to do this.
I like my desktop clean and preferably with no icons or widgets at all so I'm looking for a way to put text on it but without any sort of background or a completely transparent background so I can still see the wallpaper behind it. The following link shows exactly what I'm trying to achieve but I want it in KDE of course.

Something like a transparent version of knotes would be perfect but I've found no such thing.
