7.04 upgrade then impossible to login

Hi,

I run kubuntu 7.04... Today I decided to update my installation with adept. I did... Then I rebooted and I cannot login anymore. I get "Login failed". tried ctrl+alt+F1, same thing, can't log into terminal either.

I tried booting in recovery mode. It says modprobe: FATAL could not load /lib/module/2.6.20-17/modules.dep: No such file or directory
