I've tried searching this but haven't come across anything in the forums ( bad search terms maybe??), having said that, I've noticed that the top panel applets on the right side are shuffled after switching users, rebooting, logging out/in quickly.

Currently I've got the standard app/places/system menus on the left with nm-applet, system load, notification area, timer applet, time/weather, logout/hibernate/shutdown, volume-control all on the left.
(not listed in the order that they appear)
The ones on the left usually split somewhere in the middle of the left placed applets and somehow do a 'mirror' of where I want them to be.

It's rather annoying as it seems to happen about once a week and I'm getting tired of re-sorting them... anyone got any ideas on how to cement them in place? btw they are supposedly 'lock to panel'

bump...

btw, I found this issue in edgy after doing another google search, http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=311039... It looks like its been encountered before but with no resolution... *shrug*

apparently this has been filed as a bug already, according to http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5253841
