Ok, i was downloading stuff and went in the other room. when i came back, the screensaver was back on and the computer was frozen. no big deal, i thought, so I turn off the computer. but when i turn it back on, it stops while ubuntu is loading and comes up with a screen saying dropping into a shell and a lot of other gibberish (to me at least)
weird
then i turn the computer off and back on and it does it again

i run the recovery mode and it goes through a bunch of messages and one stands out: ALERT! /host/ubuntu/disks/root.disk does not exist. Dropping into a Shell!
Please someone help!:(:(:(:(
