Panel

When I stert Accessiories / Panel, ball is spinning but the nothing happens. I have administrative account.
My first Linux instalattion Ubuntu 8.04


Any advise

Why not try logging in as a normal user instead of the administrative one. You can open a terminal by pressing alt+F2 and type gnome-terminal then type gnome-panel Also take a look at this thread http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=5243054#post5243054
