Many years ago (more than I care to count at the moment), I played soccer. Not being particularly athletic, I wasn't very good at it.

In High School and College I played Vollyball, ran track and played Softball and was on the swimming team.
After school I drove Race Cars for about ten years and played some Golf.
Thats about it for my sports life.

A few years ago in High School, I was a varsity wrestler at 145 lbs, and was a stunter on the Central Cheer Squad (Male cheerleader). I also used to skateboard and do acrobatics back then.
Now I do Iiado, Kenpo, and a little acrobatics now and then.
If were counting video games (original post said games in ubuntu) anything by Sid Meiers is my crack, except The Sims. A little Call of Duty here and there, and some Starscape. Thats it for PC games, then theres Halo 2... Disgaea, Final Fantasy whatever, etc.

I play five-a-side football (badly), swim and occasionally go cycling.
In the past I used to play rugby, canoeing and kayaking (a lot!), rock climbing, caving (or potholing if you prefer), hill walking, sailing and windsurfing.
I am now too old and don't have the time.

I still participate in motor sport, not to the level I did a few years ago, but national none the less. I play football occasionally but golf is the one sport I play the most.

I hate doing sports with a passion. Don't worry, I still do non-sporty stuff keep active. E.g. I walk most places that I can.

I hardly consider chess a sport.
Anyways, as far as sports go, I'm an Ice Hockey guy. I play in an adult league where my team won the championship last season.

Currently I play indoor soccer and Rugby League though originally being from South Africa I feel kind of weird for not playing Union instead. I think my Dad looks down on me for it lol.
I'm currently sporting a broken nose as a result of a bad tackle last Saturday :S

These days I am rather more sedentary than I was in my teens (although run at least twice a week at the moment for 10km or so)
From the age of 7 - 12 I played soccer.
I played cricket from 10 - 12 (and continue to play this with friends to this day)
I began competitive swimming at age 11, having been learning to swim since before I can remember. I quit competitive swimming at 15, recently I timed myself and I am actually faster at 50m freestyle than when I quit, I did it in 28 seconds... although over a longer distance I progressively get slower.
I played waterpolo for my high school except for my last year.

I've played soccer very casually since I was young. Mostly club and co-ed.
I did two years of track & field in high school. Most sprints. 100m - 400m dash. I tried hurdles very briefly but it didn't work out so well.
If marching band counts as a sport, I did that for four years. I wouldn't personally count it, but if we're counting chess as a sport, then marching band would definitely have to count.

there's a reason we call it the "Olympic Games". I have no problem with chess; I like chess; I play chess; its just not a sport. Its a game of wits. but it is not a sport.

So, according to your "logic", when I say I will go see a baseball game, or a football game, that means they are not sports? Tennis is a sport, because I go see a tennis match, but since I go see a baseball game, it must not be a sport then...weird thing
Also according to your logic, track and field activities, and also swimming, boxing, tae-kwon-do, and other olympic activities, since they are part of the Olympic Games, are not sports either..weird indeed
Don't get me wrong, chess to me is a game, a very hard one, but a game. I pointed out that the Olympic Committee has it as sport. And people thinking otherwise, I respect. But saying that it is a game because the Olympics are called Olympic Games....wow. Tell me that for you it is a game, but don't use that other argument, because it is not logic, really.
