I was intrigued on the possible uses of a wiki aside from Wikipedia's collaborative encyclopedia. Almost a year ago I came across Mindquarry (http://www.mindquarry.com), a collaborative/task management software that uses a wiki engine for documentation. I had recommended it to my boss but they chose to have our software devs write a similar app minus the wiki. Still, I thought it was a good method for sharing information especially when all the documentation we have is right here in my mail archive or on specific files on different workstations here in the office.

So now I'm pushing for a stand-alone wiki software for our office documentation and I already got 2 candidates. One is MoinMoin (http://moinmoin.wikiwikiweb.de/) and the other is DokuWiki (http://wiki.splitbrain.org/wiki:dokuwiki). These two have almost similar features which I thinks is ideal for our use:
- flat files storage mechanism
- wysiwyg editor
- revision control
- access control
- search/indexing

I would like to here your opinion on these 2, or perhaps a suggestion on another alternative? Cheers.

Edit: I decided to go with Dokuwiki. Got a bit issue with the package in Hardy's repo but settled with the easier latest version.
