While going through PCWorld's articles, I came across one about a robot that can replicate stuff and itself! Anyway, the surprising thing was when I opened the image of the robot to see what it looked like, i got to see the OS they were using for the sofware. Well to my surprise they were using Ubuntu. Why the surprise? Linux has a natural home in science. One reason is that because the kernel is OpenSource, drivers for specific hardware are easier to write than in Windows.

Yeah, no real surprises here; Linux has always been pretty popular in the scientific world.

well, i get the "no surprise" of the OS, i for one am amazed by the robot itself.
