Good replacement for gwenview?

As the title says, I'm looking to replace the image viewer gwenview on my KDE desktop. My main woe about it is that it simply takes a very long time for the next picture to load. In Win XP's standard viewer the next pic popped up right away when pressing the button so I'm sure there must be a linux app capable of this too.

Has anyone got some good suggestions for me? I'd prefer it to be based on qt to have a good integration with KDE.

I think Kview is/was the default app for images in KDE. It's simple image viewer, much faster than gwenview. You may need to reassign some shortcut, it's set Shift-Left/Right by default to navigate.
