Hello,

I was wondering if it was possible to have an update server running like M$ has for windows with their WSUS server, but i would like to do this for Linux clients, so not every linux computer has to download them themselves from the internet.

The reason i ask this is because i am planning to implement a few ubuntu classes at my school (finaly had approval from the direction :) ) and if every one of them goes download them theirselves i most certanly will see my traffic go way.

I was thinking of setting up a mirror from the ubuntu update server, but don't know if this is possible at all.

all help will be welcome.

You could run a mirror as described in this article about becoming an ubuntu mirror (http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/mirror), but i don't know if you want some control over which packages are available ?
