ubuntu wont boot anymore

hey.

i have just installed ubuntu 8.04.
i installed a couple of themes and other minor things. i turned my computer off (not the first time i turned it off) and ubuntu wont boot anymore.
it comes up with some command line on a black screen.

your help is much appreciated.
