[SOLVED] Why is it not installing?

I have an AMD Turion 64 x2 TL-62 Toshiba Satellite. Running Vista Home Premium and I'm getting tired of Satan's creation (Vista) I down loaded Ubuntu 8.04, created a new partition on my HDD so that I can install it for a dual boot and when ever I reboot it never boots from the DVD-RW drive to install. Yes I have changed the BIOS boot option to boot from the dvdrw drive instead of the HDD but it still doesnt seem to want to work. What am I doing wrong??

Did you burn it as a iso file and not data? If you have access to another computer try the cd on it and see if it boots to the ubuntu desktop.
