witch widget??

im using pygtk

i have some text views and scrolded widows witch efetlessly work to gether

i wish to put a tool bar on the side much like the book marks on the side of iceweasel and want to be able to change its wdith with a mouse drag and cant work out the best way to do it

is the a custom widget or do i need to wire up a alignment widget and a mouse event??
