Hi, this is my question:
I need a stable system, thus I stick to the currently stable Ubuntu version (hardy).
However I need a few packages to be the latest bleeding edge version from the unstable repository (intrepid).
AND I need these packages to be updated every time an update is released in their original (intrepid) repository.
I can install the latest versions by adding intrepid repository to synaptic, however I have to disable it afterwards in order to keep my stable packages up to date. This way, however I cannot be notified of unstable packages updates from the unstable repository!
I have to manually re enable intrepid repository every now and then.
What's more once I've done this stable and unstable packages are all mixed together and flagged to be updated, I have to keep in mind all those packages names I wish to have at the latest version.
Is it possible to differently flag packages from different repositories?
Thanks in advance
