Xine instead of movie player

How do I make xine the default player for DVD playback? More specifically, how do I make xine pop up and start playing whenever I enter a DVD in the drive, and prevent movie player from popping up?

I notice that movie player still has many problems playing DVD's correctly. Xine is much better.
