root directory directories and files as icons on desktop [how to remove them?]

Hello,

I recently updated to Hardy. The desktop now shows icons and links to all directories and files of / directory.

How can I remove these?
I can only hide these icons in Desktop behaviour settings, but this doesn't solve the problem. Where is this information, what to show, saved?
