Hi all, slight problem here.

I installed Ubuntu to an external USB drive so that my girlfriend can continue using Windows XP and I can use Ubuntu. It works fine with one exception... GRUB must have been installed on the internal hard drive. Without the external USB hard drive GRUB produces as error and the USB hard drive has to be plugged in.

So is it possible to move GRUB onto the external USB drive so that Windows can boot when the external one isn't plugged in?

Any help appreciated, Thanks.
