Hi!
I've finally successfully set up my second monitor, so I now have 2 monitors connected via xinerama, each with 1024x768.
The only problem I still have is that in gnome, the panels are only on my first screen and if I maximize a window, it is only maximized on the particular monitor. I guess that is exactly what most people want, but I would like that the the monitors are really used as one screen and windows are maximized over both monitors. I've also tested with Fluxbox.
Any ideas?
Thanx!

Well these might be quick and dirty solutions... but will work:
-You can add new panels, and put them in your "empty monitor"
-You can resize by hand to the size of your two monitors...

thanx for your answer. unfortunately these tricks won't work for me. i want that applications that are run in fullscreen mode automaticalley strech over both screens as you can't resize an application in fullscreen mode...
