Hello,

I recently installed NetBeans 6.0.1 today, and when I try to load the examples in NetBeans, some of them do not load at all, and others give an error saying:

"Cannot determine form type (FrameView).
Please make sure the form is a JavaBeans component.
The form cannot be opened."

I have no idea what this error is but it happens when I open the examples and also when I try to click the "Design" button in NetBeans. When I go through the project creation wizard, no projects ever show up inside the projects window on the left hand side.

This is my first NetBeans installation and so far it has been a huge pain. I have spent hours trying to fix this... I have reinstalled my JDK, NetBeans, logged in out in out in out after doing a ton of reinstalls, searched all over the web and can not find a solution to this problem.

Thanks.

Wow. That's strange. Make sure you have the latest jdk6 from sun installed.

I would also suggest dumping version 6.01 for 6.1

Make sure you are using the sun-java package, see the sticky on how to make sure (there is another jdk that is used by default)

You should get the Netbeans of there original site, the one in the repos is stuffed.

Trust me
