bad video rendering on installation

Hi folks

I am trying to install ubuntu on a new NEC blade server and cannot read the screen because of bad video rendering on the install page. Has anyone come across this problem and how to fix it?

which version are you trying to install and does it stay that way even when it gets to the desktop?

I had this issue with my first gutsy install but i think they fixed it, if not this might be relevent http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=581075
