Hi,
I got Ubuntu 8.04 in my PC. I want to install kubuntu 7.10 (KDE Desktop) in it. How to install it? I got Kubuntu 7.10 CD. I could not able to download 8.04 Kubuntu as I dont have net connection.

Whether "sudo aptitude update" and "sudo aptitude install kubuntu-desktop" commands will do?

With advanced thanks,
Prabath

You want to replace ubuntu with kubuntu or to have them both as a dual boot or just have the Kde desktop beside gnome desktop in ubuntu ?

I want to have both of them. I want to select the KDE or GNOME while login. This way I believe, my hard disk space is not utilised for complete kubuntu installation (Common things between Ubuntu and Kubuntu will be one copy only).

Is it applicable for installing any version of kubuntu installation in Ubuntu 8.04? This is my exact doubt. Or only ubuntu 8.04 accepts Kubuntu 8.04?

KDE itself as a desktop has many versions i.e KDE 4 , KDE 4.1 . so, I think there is no problem installing KDE in any ubuntu version. read abut KDE :http://www.kubuntu.org/ (http://www.kubuntu.org/)
