I am from Sri Lanka . And there is no Linux Distro with the Sinhala Language . But even Tamil is there . Myself and some of my friends want to make a new linux distro or edit a distro like ubuntu or gentoo . I have heard that gentoo can be completely changed easily . Tell me how and give me some resources .

That sounds like a challenge! How many people have you got to help and how much time have you set aside, just out of interest?

Having two friends is certainly better than doing it all yourself, and anything is possible if you have enough patience and the desire to learn. I found these as well which may make intersting reading for you.

There's a few adverts unfortunately, but hopefully the narrative will be worthwhile.

you can take the source and modify it the way you want... Only thing is ubuntu trademarks and artwork that you have to be careful about...

Continuing from the other thread.

You can download the kernel sources from here then transfer to Ubuntu.

If you use VirtualBox(I can't remember what your set up is) you can use a shared folder, or simply use a USB key or whatever. When it's transferred just decompress and off you go.
