Is this after you've successfully completed installation, or are you having trouble booting the installer?

I would recommend using Xubuntu for your setup, and I'd recommend installing from the alternate installer CD.

If you don't have that disk, go here (http://mirror.anl.gov/pub/ubuntu-iso/CDs-Xubuntu/8.04/release/), grab the "PC (Intel x86) alternate install CD," and go from there.

If Ubuntu turns out to be just too much for your system (it does seem to be rather old), you might want to give Puppy Linux (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Puppy_linux) a shot.

Did they install alright, and your problem is just with booting into them afterwards, or have you not been able to do an installation yet at all?

Also, are you using the "alternate" installer disks or the "desktop" disks?
