First of all, I'm a Linux NOOB. I have Hardy installed on an HP Pavilion zd7010. I've been able to get the Broadcom 4306 card in it working (with ndiswrapper), but there are two issues I can't resolve:

1. Using the Network Manager tool to configure the wireless settings, I don't get a connection. The only way it works is to set it with "Enable roaming", and then going into the network applet and configuring the wireless settings. Which brings me to the next problem:

2. When I first power up the laptop, switch users, or bring it back from sleep mode, the wireless connection settings are gone, and I have to reenter the ESSID and WEP key. A minor annoyance for me, but a real pain for my wife, who couldn't handle that if her life depended on it.

I've read quite a few threads on this, but nothing has helped. Suggestions?
