No sound with Lindvd

Hello, first time poster here. I'm not great with Linux yet, still a newb or newbee or whatever. I have one of the Dell Ubuntu versions on an Inspiron 1420 and just upgraded to Hardy Heron. I got no sound at first but resolved that issue using the Dell Ubuntu wiki. Now I go to play a dvd in Lindvd and I don't have any sound. Video works fine. I've searched high and low but can't find any thing about this problem. Lindvd is not muted, nor is any of the things in alsamixer. Main volume control is all the way up.

I'm thinking it's not supported in Hardy yet? I have no idea. If not, what other dvd players are good to use?

Actually, Nevermind I solved my problems.

How did you solve the problem? I'm having the same problem. It always played fine before, but all of a sudden, I have no sound with DVD playback, although other sounds work fine (mp3's, youtube, etc.)

It was real simple. I downgraded back to Gutsy. I figure it has something to with the Dell system. And no one offered any advice so that was my option.
