life after password

Hi,

during last update of Gutsy Gibbon, it encountered a fatal error.
Hit OK, reboot and now it won't go beyond a solid pinkish screen it gets into after typing the password.

Any suggestions?

What was the fatal error that it threw up?

Also try logging into GNOME fail-safe by going to Options>Sessions in the login screen.
