Hi,
I could really use some help here. I recently installed some software (granule, to be specific), but when I went to save something from within it, the common dialog wouldn't open. Furthermore, I couldn't get a nautilus window to open. So I rebooted.
Now, all I get is a black screen with a cursor. I've logged in to Gnome and Failsafe Gnome -- no difference whatsoever. I have found, however, that if I manually start gdm, and then su, so I'm in root, I can launch gnome-panel. However, there is still no gnome desktop.
Thanks,
Ian
