Well, someone must like xfce's reimplementation of gnome's notification-daemon, because it's going to be included in the ibex. My question is how can I replace the notification-daemon in xubuntu without removing packages with the dependency. I'm interested mostly in the gnome power manager because I really like it.
Also, as a sidenote, how do I compile from source into a .deb? I want to do this for a few xfce packages that I've installed and really like, but I can't find any straightforward instructions for doing this. Thanks in advance.
